Stephan Meishner
Born 1963 in Jever
Resident in Haus-Kannen since 1994
When Stephan Meishner paints portraits it seems as if he were diving into a world full of unknown creatures. And if you ask him who these unreal figures are, he always has an answer: an Egyptian queen, Jesus or Aunt Mathilda. Even bees and grasshoppers are given a human face. Meishner‘s harmonious landscapes and still lifes, as well as his portraits and drawings, watercolours or oil paintings, are very well suited to stories of gnomes, knights and princesses. These creatures seem to come from a mystic imaginary world. Meishner also tells tales of popular idols.
