Roundabout-Project 2012/2013
The otherwise grey streets of Munster are getting coloured - The Alexianer took a sponsorship of design and lasting care of three roundabouts. Ilse Cobak, landscape architect at Alexianer, Lisa Inckmann, head of Kunsthaus Kannen and trainee Kornelija Wart had the idea to create a small, swarm of coloured birds, moving in the middle of the roundabout at Kappenberger Damm.
Meanwhile they used works, which were created during the last three decades at Kunsthaus Kannen. Made from strong and painted sheet metall, the birds should turn in the wind on differently high bars in an height of 2,50 to 3,50 m. On top of that there are allready ideas for the next two roundabouts: A swarm of bees should populate the roundabout at Wiedaustraße, created by patterns of Klaus Mücke, an artist who works since many years at Kunsthaus Kannen. A third roundabout is going to be designed with patterns of Rosa Benzel: butterflys, squirrels and cats.
